Stuff I want to do

I've been absent for a while. I'll get around to posting some of my stuff soon, but right now I wish to put some stuff I plan to do.

tangled happy: Shamrock Garland: These look amazingly fun, I'm going to make some for fest to hang around the camp.

A Smattering of Laura: Beautiful , quick to make headband. Will be perfect for sewing my ears onto.

Nightdress very easy conversion

Got some very good thrift shopping in today, was looking for costume, but couldn't resist when I found this lovely tartan nightdress for £2.50 and the woven belt for £1. With a little engineering, I have made the first wardrobe addition to apply to my new years resolution (i.e. making and altering more of my clothes). It really was, this simple...

Hugey long nightdress with lovely collar and sleeve detail (can't decide on the velvet bow or not yet... might change it for something else).

Simple woven belt, great for many many outfits, but I am showing how for Three and a half measly pounds, I changed them into something wearable :)

First step, chopping about a foot and a half off the bottom of the skirt. This was easy as it went along the grain, so I could see where to cut in a straight line without much hassle.

Next, fold up the hemline by about an inch and tack all the way around, tacking will hold quite well as long as you have secured firmly at the beginning and end of the thread. I hand-sewed, and so long as the stitch runs OVER the edge of the fabric, not just under it, it shouldn't fray much either. You can machine sew, but zig-zagging can fold the seam some and other ways of reducing fraying aren't as simple as just folding and tacking. The principle is the same either way though.

Finished outfit. :)

I got some more stuff while I was out that I am using to make a wardrobe for my monk at clockwork monkey, but I'll save that for another post. Thankyou for reading.
